From a Slum to an Office Near the Burj Khalifa… A Story of Determination

Mumbai didn’t welcome him with open arms; it welcomed him with struggles. He worked as a waiter in hotels, as a laborer, and even drove trucks. Days were filled with hard work, and nights ended in exhaustion—that was his routine.

By the age of sixteen or seventeen, he learned AC maintenance service. At eighteen, he opened a small shop, but luck still wasn’t on his side.

Then he dreamed of going to Dubai. He gave many interviews and faced rejection every time. But one day, fortune finally smiled—he got a job. The condition was simple: he needed ₹60,000.
His family didn’t have the money. His parents borrowed from neighbors and sold their jewelry so their son could leave for Dubai.

In Dubai, he started working for a salary of 1,000 dirhams. Within two to three months, he repaid his mother’s debt and got her jewelry back.

But life was still far from easy. He worked from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., lived in a small room with fourteen people, and stood in line at 4 a.m. just to use the bathroom.

In the middle of all this struggle, one dream kept him alive—bodybuilding. For a year and a half, he worked hard on his physique and prepared for competitions. But fate didn’t support him, and the lockdown was announced, putting his dream on hold.

After two and a half years, in 2021, he returned home with the biggest happiness of his life. He bought the same house where his family once lived on rent, and he also purchased a piece of land.

Proud of his achievement, he went back to Dubai and shared the news with his boss. But fate turned again—his boss had replaced him with someone else.

He had only twenty days left on his visa, a loan on his head, and no job.

But he refused to give up. He kept searching for work, and one day he got a contract to handle maintenance for 38 air conditioners.

From 7 a.m. to 1 a.m., he worked alone and completed all the repairs.

When he received his first cheque of 4,200 dirhams, his happiness knew no bounds.

That very night, he saw an old, broken Honda Civic on Facebook—and bought it.

It wasn’t just a car; it was his first victory.

Back home, he had the responsibility of eight siblings. There were days when he didn’t have money to eat. He survived on flattened rice, snacks, and water, and many nights he slept hungry.

That’s when he made a decision—no more jobs; he would start his own business.
He borrowed ₹1 lakh from friends, bought four washing machines, and started a laundry service.

After some time, the land he had purchased was sold. With that money, he obtained an expensive license in Dubai, got a company owner visa, and stepped into the real estate business.
But he never left the laundry and maintenance work—because that was the work that stood by him when he had nothing.

He still distributed pamphlets for his AC maintenance service himself… and slowly built three businesses—
property leasing, property buying and selling, and technical laundry and maintenance services.

Today, that same boy has his office in Dubai’s Business Bay, near the Burj Khalifa.

The boy who once traveled hiding in a train bathroom now runs his business in the shadow of the world’s tallest building.

This isn’t just the story of one man…
It’s a story of courage, hunger, dreams—
and the determination that can turn a slum boy into a success story.
